Frankly Zoe Productions

In the summer of 2004, Frankly Zoe Productions held its first Youth Summer Movie Project. For a month and a half, they had six faithful students for two days a week. When the YSMP wrapped, the kids had finished a short titled "Excess Gorywood Tonight". Wanting to make sure the students had a guaranteed venue for showing their movies, R. Zoe Polley started planning the Frankly Film Fest.

The early entry deadline is August 31st, 2006. The final entry deadline is September 15th, 2006. Entries must be postmarked by the final entry date to be considered for inclusion in the festival. Entries received after the final entry date will be considered for the 2007 Frankly Film Fest. Early deadline entry fees are $5 for shorts (1 - 44 minutes), $10 for features (45 - 120 minutes). Final deadline entry fees are $10 for shorts (1 - 44 minutes) and $20 for features (45 - 120 minutes). Due to time constraints we are unable to accept entries longer than 120 minutes. Student films, with proper proof, require no entry fee. All entry fees must be in US currency. The Frankly Film Fest accepts checks and money orders, as well as credit cards through PayPal. Checks or money orders should be made out to Frankly Film Fest.

The Frankly Film Fest only accepts screeners on DVD or NTSC VHS formats. All movies must be labeled with the name of the movie, the production company, director's name, and run time. A completed entry form along with the appropriate entry fee must accompany the screener. Movies with incomplete entry forms or without entry fees, may not be considered for the festival. Foreign language movies must be subtitled or dubbed into English. Due to the volume of entries received, screeners will not be returned.

Submissions will be screened by a panel and entries will be chosen based on several different criteria. If your movie is chosen for screening at the 2006/2007 Frankly Film Fest, you will be notified by February 5th, 2007. At that time, additional promotional information will be needed. Accepted final screening formats are NTSC VHS or DVD.

Judges choice awards will be chosen by a panel of judges involved in filmmaking. Audience choice awards will be chosen by audience votes taken after each screening. The four movies that win in the Audience Choice and Judges Choice categories will compete for the Best of Fest. The panel of judges will vote on the Best of Fest winner.
