Film Fest Awards

The
judging panel will be using a criteria similar to the one used by the
screening committee to determine the entries that were chosen to be screened
for the festival. Each movie will be judged in sixteen different
areas, each worth five points. The head of the judging committee
will then tally all of the points for each film and which ever one receives
the highest point total will win the Judges Choice Award. There
will be one award for shorts and one for features.
At
the beginning of each block of films, the audience will receive tear ballots
for each movie being screened. The audience will have the opportunity
to score the movie on a scale of one to ten. Ballots for all movies
screened during the block will be collected as the audience leaves the
screening room. The ballots will then be scored using a mathematical
equation taking into account the audience size. An average will
be taken for each movie. Which ever one receives the highest average
will win the Audience Choice Award. There will be one award for
shorts and one for features.
The
four award winners for the Judges Choice and Audience Choice Awards will
compete for the Best of Fest award. A special screening will
take place during the awards ceremony and voting will take place to determine
the Best of the Fest. Which ever movie receives the most votes will
be crowned the Best of the Fest.
